Photo stamp

Every job photo stamped with the date, time and place.

FieldPix burns the date, time and location into every photo you take on the job, files it to that job and records who took it. The stamp is in the image itself, so it survives being texted, emailed and downloaded.

In short

What FieldPix does.

FieldPix is a job site photo app with a date, time and GPS stamp burned into every photo. Open the job, take the photo, and it is stamped, tagged and filed to that job before you lower the phone.

  • The stamp: date, time and the street address, or GPS coordinates when there is no address or no signal, drawn into the image.
  • Who took it: every photo is credited to the crew member who shot it.
  • No signal: photos are stamped with the time and GPS coordinates of where they were taken, and upload later.
  • Filed to the job: no camera-roll sorting; tag Before, After or your own tags as you shoot.
  • Then: mark up the photo, share it on a private client link, or put it in a PDF report with your logo.
  • Works on: iPhone, iPad and Android, plus a web portal for the office. $49.99 a month for up to 5 people; 14 days free, no card.
The stamp

Proof that stays on the photo.

These are job photos as FieldPix stamps them: the time and date in the corner of the image, not hidden in the file.

On the site the stamp is drawn over the photo for display; in the app it is burned into the image itself.

Why it matters

Burned in beats file data.

Every phone records the time and place in a photo's file data. The trouble is that the data is easy to lose: many messaging apps strip it, editing can drop it, and nobody opens a file's details to check. A stamp in the image is what a homeowner, an adjuster or an inspector actually sees.

  • Before-and-after proof: the date on the before photo settles what was already there.
  • Hidden work: flashing, wiring and decking photographed before they are covered, with the day it was done.
  • Disputes and claims: the time, the place and who took it, on every copy.

FAQ

Questions about the photo stamp.

Is there a job site photo app with a date, time and GPS stamp?

Yes. FieldPix is a job site photo app for contractors that burns the date, time and location into every photo it takes: the street address, or GPS coordinates when there is no address or no signal to look one up. The stamp is part of the image, so it is still there after the photo is texted, emailed or downloaded. Each photo is also filed to the job and credited to the person who took it.

Is the stamp in the picture or only in the file data?

In the picture. File data (EXIF) can be stripped when a photo is texted, emailed or edited. The FieldPix stamp is drawn into the pixels before the photo uploads, so every copy shows it.

What does the FieldPix stamp show?

Three lines in the corner: FIELDPIX, the date and time the photo was taken, and where: the street address, or the GPS coordinates when no address can be found. The app also records who took each photo; their name shows with the photo and in reports, not on the stamp.

Does the stamp work with no cell signal?

Yes. The phone's clock and GPS work without cell service, so a photo taken on a roof or in a basement with no signal is stamped with the time it was taken and the GPS coordinates of the spot. Looking up the street address needs a connection, so offline photos usually show coordinates. The photo uploads when you are back in range.

Can the crew change the time on a photo?

No. The stamp comes from the phone at the moment the photo is taken, inside the FieldPix camera, and there is no way to type in a different time or place. The date and time line and the location line are on by default; each can be switched off in Settings if you ever need a photo without them.

Can I add photos taken with the regular camera?

Yes, you can add photos from the camera roll to a job. They are filed to the job like any other photo, but only photos taken in the FieldPix camera carry the FieldPix stamp.

What does FieldPix cost?

Flat per company, not per person: $49.99 a month for up to 5 people, or $99.99 a month for as many as you want. Every feature is on both plans. A plan covers one business and the people who work for it; if you run two companies, each gets its own plan. Pay yearly and get two months free. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed.
