In short

What FieldPix does, and doesn't.

FieldPix documents the roof; you send the adjuster the report. It is a job site photo app for roofing contractors, with the inspection checklist, the photo stamp and the report in one place.

  • Inspection checklist: the built-in Roof Inspection checklist covers the ground, the attic, the covering, flashing and drainage, with a photo asked for at each point.
  • Stamped photos: date, time and location burned into every photo, credited to whoever took it, even with no signal.
  • Marked damage: circle the hail hits and mark the test square on the photo.
  • Notes from your voice: talk through what you find and FieldPix writes it up by slope and area.
  • The report: a PDF with your logo, the property and the homeowner, then the photos by section, each with its stamp and who took it. Send it on to the adjuster from your phone or the web portal.
  • What it doesn't do: measure the roof, write an estimate in an insurer's format, or file the claim.
Photos adjusters look for

What to shoot on a storm inspection.

Take them in the same order on every roof, so nothing gets skipped.

Start on the ground

  • The house number and the front of the home
  • All four sides
  • Gutters, downspouts and soft metals with dents
  • Siding, screens and window wraps
  • Damage on fences, sheds and cars, if any

Inside

On each slope

  • A wide shot of the whole slope
  • The test square, marked and counted
  • Close-ups of hits, with a coin or tape for size
  • Lifted, creased or missing shingles

Flashing and the rest

  • Vents, pipe boots and caps
  • Chimney and wall flashing
  • Skylights, ridge and valleys
  • Anything that was already damaged before the storm

FAQ

Questions about insurance inspection reports.

What app do roofers use to send inspection reports to insurance adjusters?

Roofers use FieldPix, a job site photo app, to document a storm or insurance inspection and send the adjuster a PDF report. Photos carry the date, time and location burned into the image, the built-in Roof Inspection checklist asks for a photo at each point, and the notes are written by area from what you say on the roof. One tap makes the report with your logo, to send on to the adjuster by email or text and share with the homeowner.

Will the adjuster accept a FieldPix report?

Each insurer and adjuster decides what they accept, and many will still inspect the roof themselves. What a FieldPix report gives them is clear photos with the time and place on every one, grouped by area, with your notes, which makes your findings easy to follow and hard to dispute.

Does FieldPix measure the roof or write the insurance estimate?

No. FieldPix doesn't measure from photos or aerial images, and it doesn't write estimates in an insurer's format or file claims. It documents what you found: stamped photos, notes and a report. Say your measurements on the walkthrough and they go in the notes.

How do I send the report to the adjuster?

Open the PDF on your phone and send it on with the share button, or download it from the web portal and attach it to an email. The walkthrough notes can be shared as a link or a PDF too. The homeowner sees the reports you switch on for their private job link.

Can I make a report just for the insurance company?

Yes. Build a report template from sections, such as a cover page, the photos tagged Damage, your own text and a signature box, and use it on every claim. The homeowner can still get the full job report.

Can I mark the hail hits on the photos?

Yes. Draw on any photo to circle the hit, mark the test square or add an arrow and a note. The original photo is kept.

Does it work on a roof with no signal?

Yes. Photos and recordings save on the phone with their stamp and upload when you are back in range.

What does FieldPix cost?

Flat per company, not per person: $49.99 a month for up to 5 people, or $99.99 a month for as many as you want. Every feature is on both plans. A plan covers one business and the people who work for it; if you run two companies, each gets its own plan. Pay yearly and get two months free. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed.
