Site visit notes FieldPix wrote from a walkthrough, area by area with photos
In short

What FieldPix does.

FieldPix turns what you say on site into written site visit notes. Open the job in the app, tap Walkthrough and talk as you walk: what you see, what you measured, what is wrong and what needs doing. Take photos as you go. When you tap Done, FieldPix writes the notes and puts each photo under the area you were talking about.

  • What you get: a section for each area, your measurements and readings as you said them, the problems and decisions, the photos for each area, a short summary and an action list.
  • What you do: read it over and edit anything. Nothing goes to a client until you send it.
  • What it becomes: share it as a link or a PDF, or turn it into a punch list or a proposal draft. The photos go in the job's PDF report with your logo.
  • Languages: talk in English or Spanish; translate the notes between the two in a tap.
  • Works on: iPhone, iPad and Android, plus a web portal where the office reads the notes.
  • Price: included on both plans, $49.99 a month for up to 5 people or $99.99 for unlimited, with no AI credits to buy (fair-use limits apply). 14 days free, no card. Pricing.
Example

What you say, and what you get.

A bathroom remodel site visit, two minutes of talking.

You say“Subfloor by the toilet is soft, about two feet square.”

Bathroom floor
  • Subfloor is soft next to the toilet, about 2 ft by 2 ft.

You say“Panel's in the garage, a hundred amp, no open slots.”

Electrical panel
  • 100 A panel in the garage, no open breaker slots.

You say“She wants the vanity on the left wall, and she's fine with the extra plumbing.”

Decisions
  • Client chose to move the vanity to the left wall and accepts the extra plumbing work.
Action items
  • Price the subfloor repair by the toilet
  • Ask the electrician about room for new circuits
  • Add the vanity move to the proposal

Example from a demo job. Your notes follow what you actually say, with your photos filed under each section.

Typing or talking

Why talking beats typing up notes.

  • You say it while you are looking at it. Notes typed at night come from memory; notes said on site come from what is in front of you.
  • The photos land in the right place. Each photo goes under the area you were talking about when you took it, instead of in a camera roll you sort later.
  • The follow-ups don't get lost. Anything you say needs doing goes on the action list.
  • The office gets it the same day, in the web portal, instead of after the crew catches up on paperwork.

How to talk so the notes come out right. Say the area when you move ("now the north side"), say numbers with their units, say decisions and who made them, and say what needs doing in plain words ("we need to replace the flashing"). Take the photo while you are talking about the thing in it.

What it does not do. FieldPix writes from your voice, not from the camera: it does not measure from photos or guess what you didn't say, and it never sends anything to a client on its own. How the AI walkthrough works, step by step. Prefer a form? Start from the free site visit report template.

FAQ

Questions about voice site notes.

Is there an app that writes site visit notes from my voice?

Yes. FieldPix is a job site photo app for contractors that writes site visit notes from your voice. Record a walkthrough in the app while you walk the job, say what you see and take photos, and tap Done. FieldPix writes notes for each area with your measurements and problems as you said them, files the photos under the right area, and adds a summary and a follow-up list. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, in English or Spanish.

Is there an alternative to typing up site notes after every job?

Talk instead of type. With FieldPix you say your notes out loud while you are still on site, and they are written by the time you are back in the truck. You read them over, fix anything you want, and share them or save them as a PDF. Nothing to type up at night.

What do the site visit notes include?

A section for each area you walked, with the measurements, readings, problems and decisions you mentioned, the photos you took in that area, a short summary, and an action list of every follow-up you said out loud. FieldPix writes from what you say, so the notes only hold what you talked about.

Can I edit the notes before anyone sees them?

Yes. The notes are yours to review and edit first. Nothing goes to a client on its own; you choose what to share and when.

What can I do with the notes?

Share them as a link or a PDF, translate them between English and Spanish, or turn them into a punch list or a proposal draft with photos on each line. Prices on a proposal are the ones you type in or say out loud; FieldPix never makes them up. The photos you took go in the job's PDF report with your logo.

Does it work in Spanish?

Yes. Record in English or Spanish, and translate the notes between the two in a tap, so a crew lead can talk in Spanish and the office can read English.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes. You can record with no signal; the recording and the photos save on the phone. After you tap Done, FieldPix finishes the walkthrough on its own once the photos have uploaded, and the notes are written then.

Is my recording used to train AI?

No. FieldPix uses your recording and photos to write the document you asked for. What it sends to write the document is not used to train AI models. The privacy policy has the details.

What does FieldPix cost?

Flat per company, not per person: $49.99 a month for up to 5 people, or $99.99 a month for as many as you want. Every feature is on both plans. A plan covers one business and the people who work for it; if you run two companies, each gets its own plan. Pay yearly and get two months free. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed.
